New Leaf Farms, Inc. is a 10-acre wholesale nursery in Bedford, Virginia, owned by Clare Jackson. The company grows a wide variety of container plants and specializes in many natives. Most of their customers are local (within a 100-mile radius).
The Problem
They had been using GrowPoint since 2011 but had not updated it since 2014 and the system had started having issues. After researching other software companies, they tried a different one for a few months.
Unfortunately the system was incapable of customization, as was promised, and they did not get assistance in a timely manner. They wanted the best product for the money and a system that was able to meet their specific needs.
The Solution
New Leaf decided to switch back to GrowPoint and utilize the subscription service which had new amenities they did not know were available. The newer version gave them access to a lot of great features that they are now utilizing every day.
They love using GrowPoint because they can get help quickly, have access to new innovative tools, and can get custom reports created easily.

Being able to look at the information on the customized availability instead of three different screens saves a lot of time. The sales team can pull availability quicker for sales calls. They can see which plants are available, which are in production, and when they should be available. The old system did not have the option to add other pertinent data such as plant measurements, if plants are trimmed, if blooming, etc.
Previously they had to enter this type of information on a spreadsheet which took a lot of time and was subject to human error. Now the availability is automated and can be accessed and sent to customers with a simple click of a button. Talk about efficiency at its finest!
