When a grower is considering a new software or system purchase, we know the sales process can feel overwhelming with all the considerations.
At AGS, we want to make this as smooth as possible, to work with you to understand your problems and needs and to assess whether our products and services can meet those needs with your situation.
Our goal is to make the process as efficient and smooth as possible so that you can grow your business!
There are four key phases to our sales process that help ensure you have all the knowledge about our functionality you need when deciding what system to use.
Here’s what to expect with the sales process with AGS.
Discovery is the time that we ask a lot of questions about what you need and how you run your business. Sometimes this can take multiple meetings with the grower and key staff as most growers, whether large or small, have complex operations.
We also encourage you to ask questions about us and find out what we are about, how we do business, and about our products and services.
We listen to your answers and your questions and use that as the foundation for additional discussions about the problems you are trying to solve as a grower and the unique constraints and elements of your business.
Sometimes during Discovery, we may show a product or a particular feature to clarify a point – ‘you mean like this?’ kind of conversation.
Qualification is the time when we take what we have learned about your needs and problems and unique constraints and try to match that with the capabilities of our products and services.
Our goal in qualification is to make sure there is alignment in the grower’s situation, needs and staffing with the way our products work their features and capabilities they provide.
If there is a match, then we will proceed to step 3 demonstration.
If there is not a match or the match is marginal then, we will have a conversation with you. We have no desire to sell you something that won’t meet your needs. And, in those situations, we will offer our best suggestion – even if it means I am sending potential business to one of our competitors.
Our goal is for you to get the best system fit for your business.
In the demonstration phase we will give you a demonstration of the system or product under consideration.
The demonstrations will be a high-level walkthrough of relevant features and data to try to get you more familiar with how our products or services will meet your needs. The demonstration also serves as a way for your key staff to start seeing how our solutions can solve the pain points that you have.
Many times, due to the complex nature of the grower’s situation, we may have multiple meetings to reinforce key aspects of operations, address additional questions or concerns and provide additional opportunities to see the systems in action.
If, through Discovery, Qualification, and Demonstration we have a good degree of fit in what the grower is trying to solve with our products, we will move toward finalizing a deal and writing an agreement.
In the agreement we will discuss what products and services you are considering, what the pricing will be for those and when and how and who will help with the implementation phases.
If the terms, product capabilities and schedule are agreeable to both parties then we will move forward with a signed agreement and begin the process of onboarding and training.
Our powerful platform is easy to use and learn. We will work during the sales process to learn about your operation and provide the best solutions we can. And, if we aren’t a fit for your business, we will be up front and let you can and provide, when we can, alternatives in the market.
